We are pleased to announce the Train-the-Trainer course, organised by ELIXIR Norway. It will take place every Monday and Friday between 22 April - 3 May 2024. The course is interactive and it is a good opportunity to share experience and knowledge, and learn from each other.

This 2-day course will introduce participants to the core concepts of Bayesian statistics through lectures and practical exercises. The exercises will be implemented in the widely used R programming language and the Rstan library. They will enable participants to use standard Bayesian statistical tools and interpret their results.

In particular, this training is aimed at those who want to become a experienced ELIXIR instructor, run workshops and develop training materials. You don’t currently have to be an instructor or a teacher to attend this workshop, but you will be expected to be willing and committed to becoming one and to improve your teaching techniques.

This webinar will provide an overview of current metagenomic approaches to study the human microbiome and introduce several statistical methods that can be used to link its composition and function to different human phenotypes and populations. This webinar is suitable for those interested in studying the microbiomes of any environment or host. Although the presentation will be focused on the human microbiome, the methods and techniques discussed will also be applicable to other microbial ecosystems. No prior knowledge of bioinformatics is required, but undergraduate level knowledge of biology would be useful.
