On 12 February from 10:00 to 16:00, the Grant Office invites researchers and project managers to the research funding information day “Funding Nudge 2026”, which will take place at the university library.
In the second half of 2025, ELIXIR Estonia continued to deepen its collaborations in research data management, both within Estonia and across Europe, while also expanding staff involvement in training activities and knowledge-sharing initiatives. Throughout the period, we placed a stronger focus on data management by participating in and organising events in partnership. A standout moment was co-organising a Nordic Computational Biology Week Conference, an experience that will help us take on larger events in the future. Alongside these activities, our team contributed three new publications, reflecting our ongoing commitment to advancing research and supporting the broader scientific community.
The first half of 2025 has shown how ELIXIR Estonia combines international collaboration, national community-building, and innovative training to support researchers. With initiatives in citizen science, data management network, and skill development, the team is contributing to the foundation for a strong, sustainable research data ecosystem in Estonia.
The title of the episode is “Teadustarkvara arendaja roll akadeemias” - “The role of a research software engineer”. Uku spoke mostly of his personal experiences developing software in academia. Viewable at https://youtu.be/watch?v=2oLt1NcrROg and listenable anywhere you consume podcasts.
ELIXIR All Hands Meeting at Uppsala University was a resounding success! The grand main lecture hall provided a fantastic venue. It was wonderful to see colleagues from different nodes gather, share insights, and engage in enriching networking opportunities.
This interactive event will help participants understand ELIXIR’s structure and operations. It is particularly suitable for people who have been part of ELIXIR for less than two years, but is open to all. Those involved in onboarding new people to Nodes might also find this webinar useful.
By the end of the session, attendees should have a clearer picture of how they fit into ELIXIR and how best to apply their knowledge and skills to maximise their impact. They should leave with answers to their questions, and understand where to find further information and how to actively engage with ELIXIR.
